Hohe Warte, Mountain summit in Thuringia, Germany.
The Hohe Warte peak rises 765.4 meters above sea level, forming a notable elevation point within the extensive Thuringian Forest natural area.
The Carl-Eduard Tower, constructed in 1911 after two previous towers collapsed, represents the third observation structure built on this mountain summit.
The Elgersburg Knight Society, established in 1899 by Dr. Barwinski, collected 30,000 marks through donations to fund the construction of the current tower.
Visitors access the summit through multiple marked trails, including a 5.8-kilometer loop path starting from the Elgersburg parking area.
The 33-meter observation tower provides clear views extending to Schneekopf, Gehlberg, and the cities of Gotha and Erfurt.
