Hohe Warte Observation Tower, Wooden observation tower in Hohenwart, Germany.
Hohe Warte Observation Tower is a wooden structure standing about 40 meters tall between the Nagold and Würm valleys. The viewing platform at the top offers views across the Northern Black Forest landscape and surrounding hills.
The tower was built in 2002 and held the title of the tallest wooden structure in the Northern Black Forest for nearly two decades. Its prominence in the region changed when another tall wooden tower opened elsewhere in 2021.
The tower serves as a gathering place where visitors come to enjoy the surrounding landscape and take photographs of the Black Forest region. People spend time here experiencing the expansive views at their own pace.
Reaching the viewing platform requires climbing about 192 steps, as the tower has no elevator or accessibility features. Wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for a steady climb to the top.
The structure was designed by architect Robert Teltschik from Heidelberg and shares identical architectural features with the Teltschikturm in Wilhelmsfeld. Both towers were built using larch wood.
