Schlossturm, Medieval tower in Burgplatz, Düsseldorf, Germany
The Castle Tower stands 33 meters tall on the Rhine River banks, featuring five distinct levels with Tuscan columns and a polygonal fourth floor.
Built in 1260 as part of Düsseldorf Castle, the structure maintained its first three original levels from the 13th century through numerous modifications.
The Rhine Maritime Museum inside the tower presents ship models and exhibits that detail the water transport development of the Rhine region.
Visitors can climb to the top floor of the tower to observe modern Rhine river vessels and gain a complete view of Düsseldorf.
The tower's weathervane depicts a fire blower figure, created by Ferdi Walther in 1957 to commemorate the castle fire of 1872.
