Stolzenburg, Medieval castle ruin in Kall, Germany
The castle ruins form an oval structure spanning 75 meters in length, featuring remnants of living quarters, gate towers, and underground cellars.
The 1643 records from Reichskammergericht indicate that Stolzenburg served as the original residence for the Knights von Dalbenden before their move to Dalbenden Castle.
German folklore connects the castle with tales of noble knights and a black dog with luminous eyes protecting hidden treasures within its walls.
The ruins stand near the Roman Eifel aqueduct, making them accessible via the Römerkanal hiking trail that runs alongside the historical structure.
The western section of the castle required no fortification due to the natural defense provided by an extremely steep hillside slope.
