Jaderpark, Animal and leisure park in Wesermarsch, Germany
Jaderpark is a zoo and leisure facility in Wesermarsch featuring several hundred animals housed in outdoor enclosures, tropical houses, and petting areas. The entire grounds include various sections arranged for different animal species and visitor activities.
The site was established as a zoo in 1950, though the land originally housed a 17th-century farmhouse tavern before that. The Ludewigt family took over the grounds in 1995 and has managed it since then.
The park became known through the ARD television series 'Seehund, Puma & Co', which has been filmed here regularly since 2007. This program gave many viewers insight into the daily work of animal keepers and the lives of the animals.
The entire grounds are wheelchair accessible with specially designed paths connecting all enclosures and attractions. Visitors should plan enough time to walk through all the different areas at a comfortable pace.
The grounds feature a converted historic riding hall that now serves as a play barn with activities for children under 12. This transformation blends the site's farming past with modern recreation.
