WOK – World of Kitchen

WOK - World of Kitchen is a museum space displaying kitchen designs and cooking equipment from medieval times to the present day. The exhibitions reveal how kitchen layouts, tools, and appliances have transformed throughout different periods.

The museum opened in 2010 as Europe's first major kitchen history institution. It combined physical objects with an extensive book collection, establishing a new place to explore how cooking spaces have evolved.

The museum displays how people in different countries designed their kitchens and what equipment they used for cooking. You see traditional cooking methods and regional traditions that continue to shape eating habits today.

The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday for self-guided exploration of the exhibitions. Guided tours are available at multiple times throughout the day if you want more background information about the displays.

The museum has a working teaching kitchen where children and teenagers learn to cook and explore food knowledge hands-on. This practical space brings kitchen history to life by letting visitors actively participate in cooking activities.
