Pathos München, Theatre venue in Dachauer Straße, Munich, Germany
Pathos München is a theater venue with two performance spaces for theater, dance, music, and experimental work in Munich's creative district. The spaces occupy a converted tram repair hall and accommodate different sized productions and audience capacities.
The theater originated in 1982 as Pathos Transport Theater in a former tram repair facility under the direction of Georges Froscher and Kurt Bildstein. From this experimental start, it developed into an established theater with a permanent home.
The venue features work by artists from different backgrounds and stages productions that reflect diverse perspectives in contemporary theater. You will find both experimental work and established approaches presented side by side.
The theater is located on Dachauer Straße on the west side of Munich and is easily accessible by public transport. It is worth checking the current programming before visiting, as offerings vary and are seasonal.
Since 2019, the theater has operated a digital stage under artistic director Lionel Dante Dzaack, extending performances into virtual spaces. This shows how the venue has embraced new forms of presentation and integrated technology into theater practice.
