Südpark

Südpark is a public park in Münster located between Hammer Street and Südstrasse, offering open grass areas, a pond with a fountain, and mature shade trees throughout. The grounds also include play areas, sports fields, and courts for various recreational activities.

The park was created between 1975 and 1979 on the grounds of a former Prussian military barracks that operated from 1860 until 1945. This conversion of military land into public green space shaped the development of Münster's southern district.

The park serves as a gathering place where neighbors meet for outdoor meals and leisure time throughout the year. The open spaces and shaded areas are regularly used by residents for both private gatherings and community events.
