Kloster Zella, Benedictine monastery in Rodeberg, Germany
The monastery complex features multiple buildings constructed in 1603, including a church and residential quarters situated between Lengenfeld unterm Stein and Struth.
A significant fire in 1649 at the Zella freihof in Mühlhausen destroyed all archives and documents belonging to the medieval convent.
The monastery maintains a connection to religious heritage through its transformation from a Benedictine convent to an evangelical retirement facility in 1948.
The facility currently offers twelve senior-friendly rental apartments and operates as a care center under the management of WPZ Unstrut-Hainich gGmbH.
The monastery grounds include the Annaberg pilgrimage site, located 500 meters north, which served Catholic populations until the mid-nineteenth century.
