Kulturpfad Porz

The Kulturpfad Porz is a hiking and cycling trail that passes through several neighborhoods in the Porz district, with information panels marking sites of local interest. The route divides into four separate tours that guide visitors past historic buildings, chapels, and other important locations.

The path passes by Langel's Fronhof, an agricultural site documented since the 10th century that was rebuilt after being destroyed by fire. This location shows how long people have settled and worked in this area.

The route passes various chapels and wayside crosses that reveal the role of faith in shaping this region. These religious landmarks remain part of the local landscape and reflect the traditions of people who lived here.

The trails can be accessed from different train stations or along the Rhine waterfront depending on which route you choose, making them easy to reach by public transport. The numbered information panels along the way help walkers and cyclists find their way and know what they are seeing.

Around 100 information panels were installed throughout the area in the 1980s to guide visitors to historic sites. These numbered signs were funded by a local brewery for many years and still shape how people experience the route today.
