Kühlung is a hill chain near the Baltic Sea coast, extending in a northwest to southeast direction and varying in width between three and eight kilometers. The forested ridge contains multiple hiking trails and reaches its peak at Diedrichshagener Berg.
The ridge formed through the compression of moraines during Europe's Last Glacial Period, fundamentally shaping the terrain and soil conditions. This geological history reveals how ice age forces sculpted the landscape we see today.
