Modellpark Wuhlheide, Miniature park in Wuhlheide, Berlin, Germany.
Modellpark Wuhlheide is a park with 80 architectural models representing buildings and landmarks from Berlin and Brandenburg. The models are built at a 1:25 scale and spread across approximately 3.5 hectares (8.6 acres) of land.
The park opened in 2007 with an initial 45 models on the grounds of the former Ernst-Thälmann Stadium, which had served as a sports facility since 1951. Over time, the number of displayed models grew, and the location transformed into a popular destination for those interested in architecture.
The collection displays well-known buildings from Berlin and Brandenburg in miniature form, including the Brandenburg Gate and Sanssouci Palace. Visitors can discover regional architecture in a playful way and understand how diverse the building styles are across the region.
The park is open on various days at different times and works well for leisurely walks in all seasons. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes since the route leads through the grounds, and it helps to bring time to view all the models at a relaxed pace.
The park houses an in-house workshop where craftspeople create detailed miniature replicas using technical drawings and specialized painting techniques. Visitors can understand the creative process behind these elaborate models and see how much skill and patience goes into each creation.
