Nerotalanlagen, Public park in Wiesbaden, Germany
Nerotalanlagen is a park extending along the Schwarzbach creek across six hectares, crossed by walking paths and several stone bridges. Its various sections combine natural landscapes with designed garden areas.
The site was designed between 1897 and 1898 in the English landscape garden style and furnished with monuments commemorating the Franco-Prussian War and German figures. This combination of garden design and memorials shapes its appearance today.
This place is known locally as a botanical garden and houses a diverse collection of plant species from around the world. Visitors can discover this international plant diversity while walking through the landscaped areas.
The park begins at Taunusstrasse and extends about one kilometer until reaching the Nerobergbahn viaduct, with several entry points distributed throughout. Access is relatively flat in the lower areas but becomes steeper toward the railway.
Along the Schwarzbach creek, natural dams form small ponds and waterfalls that create a distinct water landscape within the urban green space. These water features and pools are popular spots for photography and rest during a walk.
