The museum extends across 1000 square meters of exhibition space, presenting numerous artifacts related to vehicle construction through multiple centuries.
Founded in 1952 as a company museum for BPW Bergische Achsen, the institution underwent substantial modernization between 2008 and 2013.
The collection features archaeological findings, agricultural wagons, fire trucks, and carriages from Europe, Asia, and Africa spanning 5500 years.
The museum opens every Sunday from 1 PM to 5 PM, offering free admission and guided tours for groups between 8 and 25 people.
Monthly blacksmith demonstrations take place in a workshop containing historical tools and machinery used in wheel and axle manufacturing.
