Museum Stadt Königsberg, Local museum in Duisburg, Germany.
Museum Stadt Königsberg was a local museum in Duisburg housed in a former granary building at the inner harbor. The collection displayed objects and documents that recorded the history of the East Prussian port city.
The institution was established in 1968 as Haus Königsberg, following Duisburg's adoption of the former East Prussian capital in 1951. The museum closed in 2016 and transferred its collections to the East Prussian Regional Museum in Lüneburg.
The museum held extensive collections focused on philosopher Immanuel Kant and artist Käthe Kollwitz. These works reflected the intellectual and cultural importance of the former East Prussian capital.
The museum is no longer open to the public as it closed in 2016. Visitors interested in East Prussian history can now view the collections at the East Prussian Regional Museum in Lüneburg.
The museum displayed a portrait of Immanuel Kant by artist Johannes Heydeck, which was exhibited at the Parliamentary Society from 2014 to 2024. This work was among the most valued and closely watched pieces in the collection.
