The facility spans 3,400 square meters and houses 1,200 animals from 125 species, including reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates in specialized habitats.
The zoo opened in 2004 in a former IT company building, emerging from director Uwe Wünstel's private collection of reptile specimens.
The educational program focuses on reducing fears and misconceptions about reptiles through daily presentations and feeding demonstrations at scheduled times.
The indoor facility maintains temperatures between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius year-round and welcomes visitors daily from 10:00 to 18:00.
Visitors can take photographs with snakes after the 15:30 snake presentation and assist in feeding sessions throughout the day.
