Schloss Eichholz, Heritage castle in Wesseling, Germany
The classical white building contains multiple wings and features numerous windows distributed across its symmetrical facade with a central entrance portal.
The estate, first mentioned as 'Eycholtz' in 1320, underwent reconstruction in 1822 after a fire and expanded into a noble residence in 1888.
The Konrad Adenauer Foundation operated an educational academy at Schloss Eichholz from 1956 to 2014, focusing on political and social studies.
The castle now functions as a specialized trauma clinic, providing medical and psychological care services to patients in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Archaeological excavations in 1986 near the castle grounds revealed foundations of a Roman villa complete with burial grounds and household artifacts.
