Schloss Fischbach, Eisenach

The two-winged château features a stone ground floor topped with a timber-framed upper level and includes a staircase tower in Renaissance style.

Built around 1256, the château underwent major modifications between 1614 and 1624 under the direction of master architect Hans Weber for Duchess Christine.

The château transformed from a noble residence to an inn in the 18th century, offering guest rooms, a ballroom, and a bowling alley for social gatherings.

The château now functions as a cultural center with office spaces, hosting exhibitions, concerts, and theater performances throughout the year.

The building's beam heads on the courtyard side display engravings from 1624, while restored gate arches mark the former fortification wall location.
