Schloss Lehrensteinsfeld

Schloss Lehrensteinsfeld is a Renaissance château with a rectangular layout and a square tower, surrounded by farm buildings and a walled courtyard. The estate now operates as a winery with storage facilities beneath the main building that produce several grape varieties including Riesling and Spätburgunder.

The château was built in the second half of the 16th century by the von Gemmingen family as a residence. In the late 18th century it received Baroque modifications while keeping its Renaissance facade largely intact.

The estate operates as a winery today and serves as a center for wine production in the region. Visitors can experience how the historic building remains closely connected to agricultural work and local traditions.

The grounds are accessible on foot from the village center and can be viewed from outside. The wine cellars beneath the castle are only open during organized tours, so it is best to check opening times in advance.

The entire castle rests on a barrel-vaulted cellar accessible through an opening in the western gable. These underground rooms with their stone-arched ceilings were specifically designed for wine storage and aging and continue to define the property's function today.
