Schloss Montfort, Moorish château in Langenargen, Germany
The yellow and red-brick castle stands on a peninsula extending into Lake Constance, featuring ornate terracotta patterns and a medieval-style observation tower.
Built in 1866 under King Karl I of Württemberg, the structure replaced ancient Roman watchtowers and a 14th-century fortress that previously occupied the site.
The castle displays paintings from the 16th to 18th centuries, part of Dr. Günther Grzimek's collection focusing on biblical scenes and mythological subjects.
The tower opens daily from April to November, with adult admission at €2 and children's tickets at €1 for panoramic views of Lake Constance.
Since 2016, the concert hall contains a Steinway & Sons grand piano that enhances musical performances during the Langenargener Castle Concerts series.
