Willkomm-Höft

The Willkomm-Höft facility stands at the edge of the Elbe River, operating as a welcoming point for vessels entering and departing Hamburg's port waters.

Since 1952, this maritime station has maintained the tradition of playing national anthems and raising flags for ships exceeding 1000 gross tons passing through.

The greeting captains at Willkomm-Höft announce details about passing vessels, including technical specifications, destination ports, and cargo information to gathered visitors.

A 60-meter pontoon with covered seating allows visitors to observe large container ships and cruise vessels throughout the year regardless of weather conditions.

Each larger vessel receives an individualized welcome through the station's sound system, complete with the corresponding national anthem of its registration country.
