St. Martin, Romanesque church in Bonn, Germany
The Basilica of Saint Martin features five towers, including a 96-meter central tower and two square towers on the eastern side of the structure.
The church construction began in the middle of the 11th century on the burial site of Roman legionaries Cassius and Florentius, who were executed in 235.
The interior holds numerous medieval frescoes, including a depiction of the three wise men from 1400 and the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary from 1300.
Located near Bonn train station at Münsterplatz square, the basilica offers guided tours that explain the architectural details and historical significance.
The crypt beneath the main altar contains a shrine with relics of Cassius and Florentius, making it a destination for religious pilgrims.
