Tullnau, Statistical district in Nuremberg, Germany.
Tullnau is a residential district in eastern Nuremberg situated between the Veilhof and Wöhrd neighborhoods. The area sits near the Wöhrder See lake at an elevation of roughly 315 meters (1,033 feet).
The area began as farmland during medieval times, with records from 1465 showing that ironworks were operated by the Nützel patrician family. This early industrial activity shaped the district's development for centuries to come.
The district features both Protestant and Catholic influences, with residents attending services at St Peter for Lutheran worship and St Kunigund for Roman Catholic ceremonies.
The Nuremberg-Dürrenhof railway station opened in 1990 and provides connections via S2 and S3 suburban trains. This makes it straightforward to navigate the area by foot or public transport.
The population density demonstrates substantial growth, increasing from 27 inhabitants in 1818 to 4,025 residents by 2015, reaching 3,440 people per square kilometer.
