Teufelstättkopf, Mountain summit in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany

Teufelstättkopf is a mountain in the Ammergau Alps that rises to 1,758 meters and features steep rock faces accessible by multiple hiking trails. The area offers different routes for hikers of varying skill levels, with paths connecting surrounding villages and mountain shelters.

The mountain was once part of the hunting grounds of the Wittelsbach family and frequented by Bavarian kings during their expeditions. These royal connections shaped the historical significance of this alpine region.

The Pürschlinghaus, positioned along the mountain route, represents traditional Bavarian mountain architecture and continues to serve hikers as a rest point.

Bring sturdy hiking boots and weatherproof clothing as conditions change quickly at altitude. Starting early in the day gives you plenty of time to reach the summit and return safely.

The route includes a via ferrata section that combines hiking with scrambling on rock, and offers views of Linderhof Palace in the Graswang Valley below. This mix of technical climbing and hiking appeals to visitors seeking a bit more adventure.
