Villa Berg is an art collection at a manor house in Stuttgart, Germany. The estate features sculptures and decorative works spread throughout the park, displaying classical, mythological, and allegorical motifs that are primarily from the 19th century.
The manor house was built in 1846 for Crown Prince Karl and Princess Olga and served as a royal residence. Many of the original artworks were relocated later to municipal galleries and museums in Stuttgart, where they remain on display today.
The name Villa Berg refers to the elevated location of the estate above Stuttgart. The artworks scattered across the grounds show classical figures and scenes that give visitors insight into 19th century artistic tastes.
The grounds have pathways that lead through the park where you can view the artworks among trees and landscaping. It is easily walkable and offers plenty of space for leisurely exploration.
One notable sculpture depicts a nude woman resisting a winged Cupid figure, with a title referring to love. This work was donated to the city by a female councilwoman in the 1920s.
