Wildpark Tannenbusch, Wildlife park in Dormagen, Germany
Wildpark Tannenbusch is a wildlife park set across about 100 hectares of forest, home to more than 130 mammal species and 100 waterfowl species. The facility has extensive pathways where visitors can observe the animals in spacious enclosures.
The park was founded in 1958 starting with a single young deer and grew throughout the 1960s thanks to support from local residents and businesses. This early expansion formed the foundation for today's large facility.
The park is a place where visitors observe native animals in settings that resemble their natural environments. Walking through, you see deer, wild boar, and other regional species living as they would in the wild.
The park is easy to explore on foot, with wide pathways suitable for wheelchair users. Visitors can bring leashed dogs, and there is plenty of time to see the different enclosures in a single day.
The grounds feature a geological education trail where regional rock formations are displayed with explanatory panels. This path shows the different types of stone found naturally in the region.
