Wildwald Voßwinkel, Forest wildlife park in Arnsberg, Germany.
Wildwald Voßwinkel is a wildlife park spanning about 600 hectares in the Luerwald forest region where native animals live in naturalistic spaces. The enclosures have no visible barriers, so you can observe the animals in surroundings that look like their natural habitat.
The site originated as a hunting enclosure created by brothers Wolfhard and Wilderich von Boeselager. Following a fire in the 1990s, the facility was completely rebuilt and transformed into a public park.
The forest serves as a place where people connect with nature and learn about how living things depend on each other. Educational activities throughout the year help visitors understand environmental issues in a hands-on way.
The park is accessible on foot with walking paths through the forest where you can watch the animals. Dogs are not allowed, but weekend feeding times are regularly held for deer, wild boars, and nocturnal animals that visitors can attend.
Around 17 different species of local animals roam freely through the forest here, including deer, wild boars, and raccoons. This mix lets visitors see how different creatures behave and interact in their own space.
