Wasserschloss Bad Rappenau, Renaissance castle in Bad Rappenau, Germany.
The Wasserschloss stands on an artificial island, surrounded by a moat and features characteristic early modern German architectural elements.
Built in 1601 by Eberhard von Gemmingen, the castle replaced an older fortress and maintained its original water defense system until 1904.
The castle functions as a cultural center, presenting exhibitions of works by notable artists including Marc Chagall and Günter Grass.
The ground floor accommodates private events for up to 65 guests and remains accessible through guided tours at Hinter dem Schloss 17.
Between 1993 and 1995, renovators removed 85 tons of centuries-old rubble during a comprehensive restoration project costing 7 million Deutsche Mark.
