Paqué brewery, St. Wendel

The Paqué brewery complex features a distinctive 19th-century industrial architecture with a large brew house and steam engine facilities at Gudesberg location.

Founded by Michael Paqué in 1836, the brewery started in a tavern on Kelsweilerstraße before expanding to a new facility at Gudesberg in 1884.

The brewery produced two notable beer varieties, St. Wendeler Pils and Wendalinus Bock, which remained regional favorites until the late 20th century.

The brewery reached its production peak of 18,500 hectoliters and employed 26 workers, distributing beer to regions including Ottweiler and Birkenfeld.

Water for brewing operations came from the Todbach stream, contributing to the specific characteristics of their beer production until 1967.
