RevuePalast Ruhr

RevuePalast Ruhr is a theater housed in a renovated heating plant building on the former Zeche Ewald coal mine site, seating around 260 guests. The space blends its industrial past with modern stage equipment and creates an unusual performance environment on historic coal mining grounds.

The building was constructed in 1877 as a heating plant for the Zeche Ewald coal mine operations. It reopened in 2009 as a theater, transforming an industrial relic into a cultural venue on abandoned mining grounds.

The venue presents a diverse mix of comedies, illusion shows, and international theater productions with professional lighting and sound equipment. Audiences experience various art forms in a space that has become a gathering point for different theatrical genres.

The venue is compactly organized with an UnderTageBar area where guests can gather before or after performances. Visitors should arrive early, as the theater has limited seating capacity and popular shows can fill up quickly.

The venue is Germany's only dedicated drag theater, home to the resident ensemble Femme Fatale who perform original productions regularly throughout the year. This specialized focus draws audiences from across the region and makes it a home for this particular art form.
