Fliegerhorst Jüterbog-Damm, Former military airbase in Jüterbog, Germany.
Fliegerhorst Jüterbog-Damm is a former military airfield with six massive concrete hangars positioned along a 900 meter grass runway on the northern edge of the site. The layout shows the typical arrangement of an airbase from this period, with support structures scattered across the grounds.
The site began in 1914 as an artillery pilot station and later expanded into a Luftwaffe base during the military buildup. After World War II, Soviet forces occupied and used the installation until they withdrew in 1994.
The structures carry the design signature of architect Max Cetto, who shaped the site during the 1930s expansion. His work remains visible in how the buildings relate to the landscape and to each other.
The grounds are accessible through marked pathways, with informational panels explaining the site's military history throughout the area. Wear sturdy footwear as the terrain covers considerable distance and can be uneven in places.
Three of the original six hangars were dismantled and shipped to the Soviet Union after World War II as part of war reparations. This removal reflects the significant penalties imposed on Germany in the postwar period.
