Stadthalle Troisdorf, Event venue in Troisdorf, Germany

Stadthalle Troisdorf is a 2014 event hall seating 1,500, with a 5,900 m² hall and a 140 m² stage. The hall is a monolithic block framed by foyer and administration rooms, and its facade shows copper and bronze tones thanks to electrolytically treated stainless steel strips. An outdoor area with a covered open-air stage is also available.

The Cologne office Böhm, with Paul Böhm named, drew the first design, which planned a representative Rathausplatz at the end of Kölner Straße, a Stadtpark with a pond and three separate hall volumes. Cost reasons led Stuttgart's K-H Architekten to revise it into a monolithic hall for 1,500 instead of 3,000 visitors. The foundation stone was laid on 30 November 2012 and the hall opened in spring 2014.

The name was chosen by Troisdorf residents in a public vote: 40 regional agencies submitted designs, a jury shortlisted five, and proposal No. 5 won with 373 votes. The city's cultural office runs the hall, which hosts trade fairs, congresses, concerts, seminars, theatre and cabaret for 15 to 1500 people. At the 2014 opening, a dance school performed a choreography to Madness's "Our House".

The building is well-located with parking available and connections to public transportation for visitors. It's best to arrive early to explore the different interior spaces and get familiar with the layout of the facility.

The facade shimmers in shifting copper and bronze tones that change depending on your viewing angle and the light. Thin stainless steel strips embedded in the exterior surface create this optical effect.
