Church of St Hippolytus, Catholic church in Troisdorf-Mitte, Germany.
The Church of St Hippolytus is a three-nave neo-Gothic building constructed in 1864 with an original choir and tower still standing. It underwent expansion in 1898 and complete reconstruction in 1963 to serve the growing local community.
Archbishop Anno II of Cologne granted the church and its revenues to Siegburg Abbey in 1064, establishing a monastic connection. This religious link shaped the community for nearly a thousand years.
The church maintains a Romanesque baptismal font from the 12th century and displays the Troisdorf Madonna in its left side chapel.
The church welcomes visitors during regular services and is generally accessible to explore its interior. Check opening hours in advance and be respectful of worship activities when visiting.
The windows were created in 1964 by Hans Lünenborg and feature Christ and Mary through ornamental designs incorporating Light of Salvation imagery. These modern glass works blend contemporary craftsmanship with spiritual symbolism.
