Saint Anthony of Padua Church

Saint Anthony of Padua Church is a neo-Romanesque building made of red brick with rounded arches and a symmetrical three-aisled layout. The interior features stained glass windows, mosaic decoration, an organ from 1957, and four bells housed in the tower.

Construction began in 1896 on land donated by a local farmer, and the building was consecrated in 1897 under architect Franz Börgershausen. The design decisions made during these early years established the church's lasting architectural character.

The interior displays works by Hildegard Bienen and Johannes Geulen, including stained glass windows and mosaics that capture light beautifully throughout the space. A teakwood sculpture by Alfred Tombers adds contemporary character to the artistic arrangement inside.

The church is open during regular services and offers accessible entry for visitors of all abilities. Allow time to explore the interior details and take in the organ and decorative elements at a comfortable pace.

The bronze main altar created by Hildegard Bienen contains relics of Saint Quirinus and other martyrs within its sanctuary. This artwork combines craftmanship with spiritual significance for the local faith community.
