Pauluskirche, Lutheran church in Duesternbrook, Kiel, Germany
The Pauluskirche features a 55-meter tower situated on a 22-meter hill, making it visible from the Kiel Fjord and marked on nautical charts.
Built between 1878 and 1882, the church initially served as a garrison church for the Prussian naval base in Kiel until 1918.
The church contains memorial tablets commemorating naval accidents and military operations from 1849 to 1913, including fallen infantry members from the Franco-Prussian War.
The church maintains two organs: a main organ with 41 registers built by Rudolf Neuthor and a choir organ with nine registers constructed by Orgelbau Quathamer.
The bell ensemble includes a bronze bell from 1659, cast in Frankfurt/Oder, which was obtained from the Hamburg Bell Cemetery after World War I.
