Schloss Lüssow, Herrenhaus im Westen der Ortschaft Lüssow (Gützkow), auch als Schloss Lüssow bezeichnet
Schloss Lüssow is a manor house in Neorenaissancestyle completed in 1868 and located in a large landscape park west of Gützkow. The two-story building features evenly arranged windows with wooden frames, a central entrance with arched doorway, and decorative gable details on the facade.
The manor was built in 1868 by Achim von Voß-Wolffradt after inheriting the estate in 1841 and wanting to modernize the property. After 1945 it served as a school, kindergarten, and refugee housing until it was abandoned in 1972, with initial restoration efforts beginning through community action in 1994.
The manor served for generations as the social center of the area and hosted gatherings and celebrations for the family. Today visitors can observe how the carefully arranged rooms and formal architecture reflected the social standing of those who lived here.
The building can be viewed from outside, but it is located in a rural area without public transport, so a car is recommended. The best time to visit is on dry days, as the paths around the manor are unpaved and can become muddy in wet weather.
The roof was replaced with modern material in the 1990s while keeping its original shape, while towers and gables removed in the 1960s left only outlines visible on the walls. These traces reveal how the building's architecture changed over decades and which elements were permanently lost.
