Fulerum Water Tower

Fulerum Water Tower is a drinking water supply facility in Mülheim an der Ruhr with a height of 40 meters and three cylindrical tanks mounted on a reinforced concrete structure supported by three legs. The storage tanks have a total capacity of 1500 cubic meters and supply drinking water to several districts in the city.

Built in 1974, this facility replaced an older tower from 1907 that could no longer meet the water supply needs of the growing population. The new construction was created in response to increased demands for drinking water supply during the economic development of the region.

The tower displays design elements from the 1960s and 1970s, reflecting architectural movements that were widespread in the Ruhr region at that time. The green-painted aluminum panels shape the appearance of the surrounding area and are visible from various viewpoints across the city.

The tower is positioned to distribute water to the surrounding districts and the green aluminum surfaces make it easy to spot from a distance. The facility is part of the city's infrastructure and is regularly maintained to ensure reliable supply to the connected areas.
