Konviktskirche, Baroque church in Ehingen, Germany
The Konviktskirche features a Greek cross layout with four freestanding pillars dividing the interior into nine symmetrical spatial units.
The Benedictine Abbey of Zwiefalten started construction in 1712, and Abbot Beda Summerberger completed the consecration of the church in 1719.
The church interior contains vaulted ceilings decorated with stucco work, including a large circular painting in the dome and oval frescoes.
The church underwent extensive renovations starting in 2011, during which one-fifth of the wooden roof structure required replacement due to structural deficiencies.
This church ranks among the earliest Sacred Heart churches in Germany, with 56 dual-beam projectors and 40 LED linear lights illuminating its architectural features.
