Ostler Hut

Ostler Hut sits on the Breitenberg ridge at about 1838 meters elevation and offers views across both the Allgäu and Tyrolean Alps. The lodge includes guest rooms, a restaurant area, and modern suites with large windows overlooking the mountains along with outdoor seating areas.

Hans Ostler founded this mountain lodge in the early 1900s and expanded it from a basic shelter into a full-service alpine hotel. The property has remained under family ownership through the decades, shaping local mountain hospitality.

This lodge serves as a gathering point where visitors enjoy regional Bavarian cuisine while surrounded by mountain views. The family's traditional hospitality has made it a recognized destination for people seeking authentic Alpine experiences.

The lodge is accessible on foot via several hiking trails or by taking the Breitenbergbahn chairlift followed by a walk uphill to the entrance. Good footwear is important as the final approach can be steep and rocky, especially when weather conditions are wet.

The newer Ostler Suites are constructed from Swiss stone pine wood, a fragrant timber with natural properties traditionally used throughout the Alps. These rooms blend modern construction with Alpine craftsmanship traditions in an unexpected way.
