Bad Salzufler Weihnachtstraum

Bad Salzufler Weihnachtstraum is a Christmas market with about 65 wooden pavilions spread across the old town. The market area runs from Schliepsteiner Gate through the pedestrian zone to Salzhof square.

The market was founded in 2005 by the Bad Salzuflen Business Association as a new seasonal event. This establishment grew into a major annual attraction that draws large crowds each year.

Local choirs and national performers give concerts on the central stage, while craftspeople demonstrate traditional skills like wood carving and glass blowing. Visitors can watch these traditional techniques being practiced as they walk through the market.

The market opens daily at noon and stays open until 9 PM, with extended hours until 9:30 PM on Saturdays. Visiting on weekdays is better if you prefer fewer crowds and more space to explore.

A 12 meter tall Christmas pyramid with hand-carved figures from the Ore Mountains rotates at Salzhof square. This pyramid is the tallest of its kind in the region and draws attention with its handcrafted details.
