Müllberg Hummelsbüttel, Scenic viewpoint and mountain in Hummelsbüttel, Germany.
Müllberg Hummelsbüttel is a hill reaching about 79 meters high in Hamburg, offering views across the city skyline. It sits directly beside Hummelsee lake with walking trails that wind through green areas and varied landscapes around it.
The site served as a landfill from 1960 to 1984, receiving construction waste and mineral materials from three former sand pits. It was later reshaped into recreational land where it stands today.
The mountain emerged from industrial land into a space where people walk, jog, and spend their free time together. The surrounding meadows and lake have become part of the rhythm for many Hamburg residents who come here daily to find nature.
The site is easy to reach by public transport, with bus line 178 serving the Heimgarten stop nearby. Parking is available at Glashütter Landstraße if you arrive by car.
Hummelsee lake beside the hill reaches depths of up to nine meters and is home to carp, tench, and pike-perch. This depth and variety of fish make it an important habitat that many visitors overlook.
