Built between 1603 and 1609 by wealthy merchant Statius von Münchhausen, the manor served as an administrative office for estate management.
The birthplace of Baron Hieronymus von Münchhausen in 1720, who became famous for his extraordinary adventure stories and narratives.
Since 1936, the building functions as the town hall of Bodenwerder, maintaining its central role in community administration.
The manor forms part of a three-building ensemble, including a stone residential tower and a former distillery on the historical Münchhausen estate.
