The Stellwerk Ahlhorn combines two functions within its structure, featuring both a signal control room and an integrated water tower system.
After years of deterioration and planned demolition by Deutsche Bahn, the signal box received extensive restoration support totaling 400,000 euros in 2021.
The preservation society transformed this railway structure into a monument, installing a bronze plaque to commemorate its architectural value.
The renovated building now houses the Kulturschatz Bauernhof foundation, which utilizes the space for monument services and administrative operations.
A scale model manufacturer, Faller, created an H0-scale (1:87) replica of this signal box, recognizing its distinctive architectural design.
