Glasmuseum Boffzen

Glasmuseum Boffzen houses glass objects ranging from everyday items to contemporary art within a 1905 factory owner's villa. The collection spans multiple periods and styles, displayed across the rooms of this historical residence.

Founded in 1991, the museum documents glassmaking that has shaped the Boffzen region for over 500 years. The Becker family played a key role in developing this local glass industry.

The permanent exhibition includes carafes, wine glasses, and beer glasses from the 1950s and 1960s, representing regional craftsmanship and production methods.

The museum occupies a multi-story building accessible by stairs throughout. Access is limited, as wheelchairs cannot navigate all areas of the space.

The museum building was once the Becker family residence, pioneers of the local glass trade. The private rooms are now exhibition spaces, giving the visit a personal dimension.
