First documented in 1450, the farmhouse received its current structure in 1769, marked by an inscription on the loggia door and later modifications in 1813.

German writer Joseph Victor von Scheffel frequented the farmhouse during his stays in Großpienzenau in the 1860s, incorporating his experiences into his writings.
