Wackerstein mit Höhle

The Wackerstein rises 825 meters above sea level, featuring a narrow ridge connection to the Swabian Jura and a distinctive two-part structure with a summit cross.

The formation originated as a reef in the Jurassic Sea, transforming over millions of years into the current limestone structure that defines the regional landscape.

The Wackerstein serves as a central point along the Hochgehtürmt hiking trail, attracting numerous visitors who trek through the Hochgehberge mountain region.

Access to the formation requires sturdy footwear and begins at the Nebelhöhle parking lot, following a 2.5-kilometer path marked with blue triangles through forest areas.

The site contains both a natural cave system and a shelter hut, offering visitors protection while providing views across the Albvorland region to the Black Forest.
