CinemaxX Bremen opened in 1999 as part of the CinemaxX chain founded by Hans-Joachim Flebbe, in a new building near Bremen Hauptbahnhof. CinemaxX Bremen opened in 2000 as one of Germany's first multiplexes built inside a main railway station complex, with nine screens seating around 2,500 people.
