Memorial Johann David Ludwig Yorck von Wartenburg

This memorial is a bronze statue on a granite pedestal along Unter den Linden in Berlin-Mitte. The entire composition demonstrates the collaboration between sculptor and architect in classical design.

The monument was completed in 1855 and honors a Prussian field marshal who directed significant military operations during the Napoleonic Wars. Inscriptions were added later and document his historical importance to the Prussian state.

The memorial bears the name of a field marshal remembered for his role in the Wars of Liberation. Visitors see here a work reflecting Prussian history and military tradition.
