The Hochbunker Körnerstraße stands as a three-story concrete structure measuring 50.3 by 15 meters with thick protective walls designed for maximum security.
Built in 1943 by architect Hans Schumacher, this shelter accommodated 1,550 people during World War II and later served as emergency housing in post-war Germany.
The building now functions as bunker k101, hosting exhibitions and cultural events while maintaining its role as a memorial to wartime history.
Located at Körnerstraße 107-111 in Cologne, the bunker contains 1,700 square meters of usable space across multiple levels with reinforced construction.
The structure received protected monument status in 1995 and stands near the former location of the Ehrenfeld Synagogue, commemorated by a memorial plaque since 1964.
