The Museum Haus Dix stands on Otto-Dix-Weg 6 in Gaienhofen, displaying original furniture and artworks within the former residence of painter Otto Dix.
After losing his professorship at Dresden Academy in 1933, Otto Dix moved to this house in 1936, where he continued creating art until his death in 1969.
The museum maintains the authentic interior arrangement of the Dix family home, featuring reproductions of paintings that previously decorated these same walls.
Visitors can explore the museum from March to October, Tuesday through Sunday between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM, with guided tours available twice monthly.
During renovation work in 2012, workers discovered colorful carnival party murals painted by Otto Dix himself in the basement of the house.
